Professional humidity and climate monitoring techniques are not only used in the industrial environment. Valuable cultural assets of ancient times - few several thousand years old - also require proper storage under defined climate and controlled atmospheric conditions.  Together with the company GLASBAU HAHN, who are market leaders in the field of fully glass-panelled showcases, a new concept was developed for complete air conditioning of museum showcases. The device regulates the temperature and relative humidity of air inside the showcase with high precision. The measuring accuracy of the capacitive measuring systems is up to 1% for relative humidity and 0.3°C for temperature.

The totally noiseless and vibration free compressor of the cooling system which is integrated into the glass showcase enables a maximum temperature difference of 8 K with respect to the outside environment. The regulating device also restricts humidity due to the effect of noise, within a fixed regulation band, and prevents condensation effect on the glass panes or the cooling system through the super imposed dew point regulation.  The patented pressurised system prevents the entry of dust or gas content from the outside atmosphere. An integrated gas filter in the pressurised system guarantees pollution free conditions inside the showcases.

The climate controller can work both with air or nitrogen. The nitrogen atmosphere works as inert gas, in order to prevent oxidation of organic materials and to destroy the microorganisms. As an additional feature, the regulation device comprises of a network interface for LONWORKS network. Over the interface, the device can also be remotely connected to query measurement data and system settings or to change the regulation parameters. Over a router, a worldwide access with password protection is also possible through the Internet. Alarm messages can be sent over the network or as an SMS from Mobile phone or can be sent through FAX.

Software for data recording of measurements in the showcase and online documentation completes the product package. The data is stored in portable media and humidity curves are displayed on the computer screen. The archiving of previous charts is not necessary even if the data recordings are several years old.
